In late May, our entire team was rocked by the passing of Robert Indiana, the iconic American artist who made LOVE accessible to the public. SRI has had the distinct honor of working on numerous installations of his large-scale sculptures so that they can be seen by people around the world.
Last month, we had the pleasure of providing some of the art logistics for Robert Indiana’s first posthumous exhibit, Robert Indiana: A Sculpture Retrospective, at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY. Given the timing of the exhibition, it was a privilege to coordinate the transport of a set of Indiana’s NUMBERS ONE through ZERO again, this time to Buffalo’s Wilkeson Pointe in conjunction with the exhibit. We attended the show’s opening event, which exhibits some rarely-seen work by the iconic artist. The exhibit was full of emotion and we hope others take the opportunity to experience the breadth of Robert Indiana’s work on view through September 23, 2018, at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
Indiana’s bold, iconic sculptures made an impression on millions of people around the world—including our team. Here are a few of our favorite moments:
