Oliver Stebich

Owner

Oliver founded SRI in 2001 with the mission of providing museum-quality fine art services with a strong concentration in the proper handling of artwork. Beginning his career in investment banking, Oliver brought his financial acumen to the art services business over 30 years ago. He built his deep knowledge of our industry through hands-on work in every department at Crozier Fine Arts before becoming Vice President and evidentially opening SRI. Unlike many Presidents, you won’t find Oliver behind a desk. He is still hands-on, often in our warehouses or planning and executing complex sculptural installations.

Oliver holds a bachelor’s in international business with a minor in art history from Manhattanville College.

“Art logistics is a business of responsibility and inefficiency. It all comes down to planning and precise handling. We over-plan, always looking five steps ahead for what might happen and create alternate routes in advance. This applies to every aspect of the business. Anyone who is looking for shortcuts in fine art logistics is flirting with disaster.”

Melissa Osterwind

President

Melissa joined the SRI team in 2013 and brings over two decades of financial management and operations experience to our table.  Prior to SRI, Melissa was the Controller at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and oversaw their $1.6 billion expense budget.  In addition to her extensive managerial experience and financial expertise, Melissa is visionary team builder. She has guided SRI through record growth; doubling the staff, storage footprint and gross sales over the past decade.  She recently navigated SRI through the Covid-related shutdowns without layoffs or furloughs. (Thanks Melissa!!)

Melissa is currently a Trustee at The Bronx Museum of Art and Project for Empty Space. She holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University, with a concentration in finance.

“We consider our clients as our partners in caring for their collections. Galleries have very different goals than museums and private collectors. We work closely with all of our clients to make sure their goals are met, while giving the utmost care to their collections.”

Courtney Maier Burbela

Director of Client Services

Courtney has been a long-time friend of SRI and joined our team fulltime in 2017. Courtney brings over thirty years of specialized, fine art marketing experience with a proven history of client satisfaction.  As a strategic and creative thinker, Courtney builds brands, fosters partnerships, and has earned a high level of client loyalty. She brings a 360-degree view of the art world, having worked in galleries, auction houses. Previous to SRI, she consulted with Bob Crozier for 17 years, ushering exponential growth for Crozier Fine Arts. Courtney is an ambassador for SRI, creating new avenues of business through personal relationships, partnership and strategic alliances.

Courtney is a graduate of Foxcroft School and holds majors in Art History and Painting from Lehigh University.

“I consider it an honor to be working with the collections in our care. SRI’s proper handling and storage secures the future of artifacts for future generations. I love being a small part of that.”

Jonathan Pierro

General Manager

SRI’s most tenured employee, Jon has been an integral part of the SRI team since 2004. His nearly two decades with SRI have given him an in-depth perspective of the inner-workings of not only SRI, but of the global art logistics industry. Jon is equally comfortable at an art event as he is driving a forklift. This serves him well as General Manager of SRI where he oversees all operations departments and leads our long-term projects and large technical installations.

A local Jersey boy, Jon grew up in Secaucus and went to Secaucus High School.

“I love the art logistics business. Every project is different and there is always something new to learn, see, and do. My job has found me sipping champagne with titans of the art world and installing sculpture from a harness 16-stories above ground.”

Ryan Pressman

Transportation Manager

Ryan joined the SRI team as a senior art handler in 2010, and was quickly promoted to the position of Transportation Manager. His experience in the field and natural problem-solving abilities support the complexities of his position. Ryan works directly with nearly all of our clients, coordinating pick-ups, deliveries and installations throughout the tri-state area.

Ryan earned his undergraduate degree in painting at Brandeis University and trained in art handling at both the Rose Art Museum and the Stone Gallery at Boston University where he simultaneously earned his MFA in studio painting.

“Coordinating clients’ needs, project priorities, and the art handler and trucks that drive our work – it’s a bit like solving a puzzle every day. That’s what I do.”

Steve King

Fine Art Warehouse Manager

Steve joined SRI in 2015. Starting from the bottom, Steve learned and mastered his art handling skills working in our fine art warehouses and then began rising through the ranks. He is currently in charge of managing all 100,000 square feet of fine art throughout all four of SRI’s warehouse locations. Steve’s innate affinity for details makes him a natural in coordinating all the minutiae involved in his daily responsibility of scores of artworks in our care.

Steve is a Political Science major from York College in Pennsylvania.

“I really love all the details involved in my work. Every segment of every move of every piece is confirmed, tracked, and documented. I like that kind of order; it feels right to me.”

Deborah Correa White

International Logistics Manager

Deborah Correa White became a part of SRI in 2006, as an assistant to the international department. Deb is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish, an asset that has allowed her to excel in her department and connect with her clients from all over the world. Deb’s confidence and persistence in every task paved the way for her to gain more experience in both warehouse and accounting services. She applies her knowledge and experience to ensure that every shipment coming and going from the country is executed to perfection. Now leading the international department, Deb does so with determination and understanding of the art logistics world.

Deborah is tri-lingual; English, Portuguese and Spanish.

“I’m a planner, so global art logistics is a natural expression for me. I take great pride in working with my clients to determine exactly what they need, then coordinating all the details, looking ahead for possible issues, and being the one who makes sure that every segment is managed along the way. I love it when a plan comes together!”

John McCollum

Domestic and International Logistics

John has worked in art logistics for 25 years. He came to SRI with a skillset including both management and art logistics. Throughout his nearly two decades with SRI, he has creating innumerable shipping solutions for art and exhibitions across the US and around the world.

John received a BA in Marketing Management from Saint Peter’s University.

“I enjoy the challenge of working out the intricacies of each job. Some solutions are easy, some are truly next to impossible. It’s really satisfying to figure those out.”

Mike Wines

Crate Shop Manager

Mike Wines joined the SRI Fine Art Services team in 2017 from Boxart, where he supervised the night crew of their crating operation.  Mike brings a lifetime of creative woodworking to his position as SRI Crate Shop Manager. A life-long woodworker and tinkerer, Mike has a deep understanding of how wood behaves (and misbehaves) which gives him a unique perspective on building fine art crates. He uses that knowledge every day building safe havens for art in transit and storage.

Mike received his BLS from the University of Memphis and a Masters in Biology from Auburn University.

“The irony of art is that it’s made to be seen, but it is safest in a well-made crate.”

Accounting Manager

Diana joined SRI in 2016, and has been responsible for our accounts payable and receivable ever since. Prior to working at SRI, Diana applied her analytical mindset in the software development arena. Born in Columbia, Diana is fluent in both English and Spanish, and is a delight to work with in any language.

Diana holds a BA in Accounting from William Patterson University.

“I enjoy the explanatory side of accounting; seeing a story unfold in numbers. I find it quite satisfying!”
