Oliver Stebich founded SRI in August 2001 with the mission of providing museum quality, global fine art services― transportation, storage, crating, installation and exhibition services― for museums, galleries, auction houses, private collectors, foundations, artists, corporations, estates, and government agencies. He holds a bachelors degree in international business with a minor in art history from Manhattanville College. Oliver started out in investment banking before entering the art transportation and storage business more than 20 years ago. Oliver’s commitment to preservation of artwork is his passion and the guiding principal at SRI.
Melissa Osterwind joined the SRI team in 2013 and brings over 15 years of financial management and operations experience to the table. Prior to her tenure as Chief Operating Officer at SRI, Melissa was the Controller at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and oversaw their $1.6 billion expense budget. In addition to her extensive managerial experience and financial expertise, Melissa’s love of all of the arts and commitment to cultural guardianship and public service make her an ideal team member. Melissa holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University, with a Finance concentration.
One of SRI’s original New Jersey employees, John McCollum has been in the business for 20 years and a part of the SRI team for almost 15 years. As General Manager of SRI, John oversees all aspects of operations while making himself available to both clients and staff.
John received a BA in marketing management from Saint Peter’s University in New Jersey and went to work with Perfectransport. John came to SRI with a skillset that included both management and art logistics. Throughout his years in the art world, John has continued to build his knowledgebase by immersing himself in all aspects of art services.
Deborah White came to SRI in 2006, as an assistant to the international department, which she now manages. She brings over a decade of experience in international logistics including: customs documentation, cargo handling, tarmac security and international courier service.
Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, Deb is a huge asset to our international clients. Her natural attention to details is perfectly suited to the multi-faceted area of international transfers.
Jonathan Pierro started with SRI to assist with international shipping in 2004. The following year Jon moved to our storage division, becoming the manager of our newly opened New Jersey warehouse. Jon quickly expanded his expertise in art handling and warehouse management in his new position. As SRI has grown, so has Jon. Today he manages all four of SRI’s warehouse locations, personally guaranteeing that each piece of work is stored safely and securely. You can count on Jon to go above and beyond to assure that works have safely reached their destinations.
Tamara Rafkin brings 20 plus years of hands-on fine arts experience to SRI. She joined SRI in late 2015 managing all warehouse activities in our New York location. Tamara works directly with clients to coordinating private viewings, overseeing their New York inventory and assisting them with any other project needs.
Tamara received a BFA from the Atlanta College of Art and has a degree in ceramics from the Academie voor Beldeende Kunsten in Belgium. Tamara is both smart and creative, having been a founder of a non-profit arts organization, freelance studio manager/photography producer, established a commercial photography career and continues her fine art exhibiting career on multiple continents – all the while maintaining strong client relationships.
Ryan Pressman knows first hand the intricacies of arranging art in transport. He first joined the SRI team in 2010 as an art handler. Over the years, Ryan has personally handled thousands of pieces of art in the tri-state area and is well-versed in the intricacies of delivering art in one of the art world’s hubs. In 2015, Ryan traded his white gloves for a laptop and has been coordinating the transportation operations for SRI, working with some of the most impressive art institutions in the country. Prior to his tenure at SRI, Ryan was an art handler for the Rose Art Museum and the Stone Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University and an MFA in painting from Boston University.
